Dr. Elton Bowen is the former Ob/Gyn Department Chair at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa where he was dedicated to providing high-risk obstetrical services for almost 20 years. He received his medical degree from Washington University in 1987 and completed his Ob/Gyn residency in 1991. He was a medical officer in the US Navy and the MFM Department Chair at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. He completed his formal training with a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1997.

Dr. Bowen has a passion caring for patients struggling with substance abuse, morbid obesity and provides compassionate care to patients with stillbirth or lethal anomalies. He retains an active role with the Phoenix Birthing Project and the nonprofit group, Doctors Without Borders. In providing excellent patient care, Dr. Bowen’ believes in working as a team with the physician, patient and staff to achieve the best possible outcome for mother and baby.

Dr. Bowen loves spending time with his two daughters, traveling and training for half marathons. He loves learning about different cultures and hopes to one day complete his goal of visiting every continent.
